The French worldwide shipping lines CMA-CGM began today its regular weekly direct calls to the Port of Aden every Tuesday from China via Malaysia and Serilanka ports.
The Executive Chairman of the Corporation Captain / Sami Saeed Farea, accompanied by the Director General of Al-Halal Shipping Company, the agent for this group, attended the inauguration ceremony of these lines by the arrival of the ship SILS. The length of the ship is 222 meters with a total gross tonnage of 27,779.
The company noted that its calls via joint ships for its French CMA-CGM shipping lines and the Asian shipping line ANL run from East Asia ports and the Chinese ports via Malaysia, Serilanka and then to the Port of Aden. The company added that by receiving these giant global lines, the Port of Aden has made an important step towards attracting international shipping lines, adding that this shipping line is ranked third in the world of container handling.
