The Prime Minister chaired the Board of Transport Trustees first meeting

The Board of Transport Trustees (sea, air and land) of Aden Governorate held its first meeting on 12/28/2014 in Aden, headed by the Prime Minister Mr. / Khaled Bahah to discuss the current situation of transport sector in Aden

and ways to promote the vital and important role of this sector building on achieving true partnership between the public and private sector in the implementation of policies and activities for the development of this sector in various aspects.

The meeting discussed the institutional and logistical mechanisms of action required to improve the essential role of the transport sector towards the confirmation the basic function of the city of Aden and the development of its economic activity depending on Aden sea and air ports and Aden Free Zone.

The Council listened to presentations from YGAPC, APDC, Aden Airport and Aden Free Zone, in addition to a future vision for the

Aden Airport, through casting light on the current status of these institutions and activities assigned to them as well as the major challenges faced, plans and programs for the current and future development of its infrastructure and the level of services, and access to the desired performance level that enhances the cultural role of the city of Aden and put it back its natural function towards the governorate's economy and the nation in general.

The reports included quarterly plans for these entities to be implemented over the next year, both those that will be implemented over a period of 90 days, or those that are scheduled to be implemented throughout the year.

The private sector presented during the meeting, his vision for the advancement of its role in the field of transport and the participation in the advancement of the strategic function of the city of Aden, based on the development of sea and air navigation services sector, stressing the importance of creating a new culture of partnership between the government and the private sector.

The Prime Minister called everyone to have the spirit of optimism in order to achieve the best performance and face the challenges facing us all at this stage.

The Minister of Transport Eng. / Badr Basalma and the Governor of Aden, Dr. Abdul Aziz Bin Habtoor stressed the importance of the Board of Trustees of the Ports of Aden role on identifying the needed actions to improve the performance of transport sector mechanisms.

The Minister called everyone to work in a high responsible national spirit in a complementary manner for the implementation of enhanced performance plans and to overcome challenges and achieve positive effects of a partnership between the public and private sectors, on this sector and its employees .. explaining the importance of the role that should be done by the people of Aden to enhance the chances of success of local government and private sector efforts to restore the vital role and function of the Port of Aden and the airport, and reach the acquired objectives of Aden Free Zone for the benefit of the governorate and the country in general.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Mohamed Muatami and the Minister of State for dialogue outputs affairs Mr. Mutlaq Ghaleb and Secretary General of the Council of Ministers Mr. Hassan Hubaishi and a number of members from the local authority in Aden and specialists from the Ministry of Transport.
