Ceremony of delivering Korean aid received through the World Food Program

The port of Aden received on Tuesday, 18 June 2019, 19,000 metric tons of Korean rice as an aid from the South Korean government to the Yemeni people, through the World Food Program (WFP). The inauguration ceremony was attended by HE Mr. Fatah Abdulraqeeb, Minister of Local Administration, Chairman of the Yemeni Government Relief Committee, HE Mr. Pak Nashkol, Ambassador of South Korea to Yemen, and Mr. Mohamed Ali Mahmood, Director of the World Food Program. They were received by Eng. / Abdulrab Jaber Al-Khulaqui, Deputy Chairman of YGAPC, Ahmed Muthana Al-Ammari, General Manager of Planning, Marketing and Information, and the UNDP delegate in the Port of Aden who participated in the reception process. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Planning and International Cooperation, Aden Governorate Authority and the General Organization for Standardization and Metrology. A statement was delivered by the Minister of Local Administration in which he thanked the South Korean government for the assistance needed by the Yemeni people and other assistance provided by the Korean side. He stressed that the legitimate Yemeni government does not mind the arrival of any aid through any Yemeni port but the use of this aid by the coup militia in the war effort made the World Food Program (WFP) direct them through the port of Aden and other ports under the authority of the Yemeni government. For his part, the Korean ambassador said in his speech the intention of his government to continue to provide assistance to the Yemeni people, in addition to the word of the Director General of the program - Aden, which came in the same direction. It is worth mentioning that the words of the concerned parties confirmed the Yemeni government's efforts to provide all facilities for the arrival of aid to Yemen, stressing the appreciation of the efforts made by the leadership, staff and workers of Yemen Gulf of Aden Ports Corporation represented by the Executive Chairman of the Corporation, Mohamed Alwai Amzarbah.
